ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Dr. Fan Lu received his Ph.D. in Phycology (the study of algae). He has more than twenty years experience in microalgal research, development, and commercialization. His expertise ranges from taxonomy, ecology, physiology, and biochemistry of microalgae to the nutritional and medical functions of microalgal products. He invented methods for cultivation of the AlgaBerry™ and formulations for weight loss and cholesterol reduction. He is also an expert in the production of natural astaxanthin and microalgae-based omega-3 fatty acids. He holds several patents for these products. His latest endeavor is to develop biodiesel using microalgae in order to provide a renewable and sustainable alternative energy source for the United States.
